Outsourcing Do’s & Don’ts For Online Businesses

Kimberly Jimenez, Online Marketing Strategist

November 3 2016

A few weeks ago I jumped on a Facebook Live broadcast to share a few outsourcing do’s & don’t with you, but I never got around publishing these golden nuggets to the blog, so here they are.

The year was 2013, and I had just quit my cushy 9-5 to launch my business, and although my business was thriving, I was lost in the weeds.

There were dozens of clients that needed to be billed, a website to re-design, videos and blog posts to publish and a whole slew of clients who wanted me to be at their beck and call 24/7.

I knew I needed help and long story short, I hired my first assistant and life changed.

Although it was not all peaches and cream, mainly because I made LOADS of mistakes, I started disengaging from the little things that kept me from moving my business forward, and I’ve never looked back ever since.

See, whether you have a big budget or a tiny one, hiring your first (or next) VA, can help you take some pretty significant leaps forward in your business.

But here’s the thing…

Hiring a virtual assistant or outsourcing your next project isn’t this magical experience that will suddenly create all this free time for you (although it absolutely can).

You have to be intentional about building that relationship and more importantly, you want to have the right expectations.

Trust me; outsourcing can do wonders for your business but ONLY if you find the right person and you manage the relationship like a true professional (#KeepItProYo!).

So today I want to share with you a few of the do’s & don’ts I’ve learned from working with outsourced parties over the years.

Promise me you won’t jump into hiring until you watch this video. 😉

Here’s the link to Chris Ducker’s Virtual Freedom book. I highly recommend it if you are looking to make outsourcing an impactful investment in your business.

Remember, outsourcing can be a huge game-changer, but only if you approach it from a strategic standpoint.

I’ve met way too many online entrepreneurs who are either jaded or have wasted thousands of dollars in outsourcing because they didn’t take the time to research and come up with a solid plan of action.

So whether you are getting ready to hire your first VA or outsource a simple project, make sure you are setting yourself up for success from the get-go.
