So, I threw up an Instagram poll and asked you guys, “Do you feel like you have clarity going into 2022?” And about 78% of you said, “Heck, no. I don’t have Clarity.” And that was such a light bulb moment for me to talk about this here.
So today, let’s talk about three ways to get more Clarity in the New Year and figure out exactly what you need to be working on in your business.
Let’s get into it.
#1 LEAN INTO THE UNCERTAINTY
Yes, I know, it sounds ironic, but please hear me out.
A few years ago, I read this quote,
Clarity does not strike. It unfolds.
And this quote has become one of the guiding principles in my business.
And so, as you lean into this idea that Clarity does not strike, it unfolds; I want you to remember that what it means is that you learn by doing.
Wherever you are or whatever stage you are in your business right now, there are 6 stages in the Success Path, will always be new levels in your industry. And I can tell you from personal experience; it doesn’t matter if I’m launching a new product or creating a new post on Instagram, I never have perfect Clarity 100% of the time.
If you’re not familiar yet, with our Online Success Path, definitely check that out. It’s going to help you identify what stage of business you’re in. And it’s going to show you what you should ignore in a particular stage versus what you should be working on.
Now, of course, you get better with practice. But the reality is, as you receive feedback from the marketplace, as you’re trying new things, and you check in with yourself to see if it feels good and makes sense for your business and your life, you’re going to have a clearer idea of whether or not it’s the right move for you.
So understanding and being comfortable in those feelings of discomfort and vulnerability, realizing that’s part of the process, and pushing through and uncovering what is behind all those feelings is part of the game.
So that’s strategy number one, understand that Clarity does not strike, it unfolds.

#2 FIND A CONFIDANT
Find someone you truly trust and talk to them about your business plans; talk about what you think you might want to pursue. It could be your mentor, a close friend, a spouse, or someone in your life who can give you clear advice, who will tell you the truth in love.
Having that someone as your confidant is such an amazing business asset.
And if you don’t have that person, get that person. You can network, you can go on social media and become part of a Facebook group, you can talk to people on LinkedIn, you can find a pod, you can go and meet up with people in real life, you can pay for mentors, or you can join a mastermind group, or you can join a coaching program, all of those things are available to you through the internet.
We already have access to so much amazing information, so much guidance, and real people all over the world that can walk you through whatever challenge you’re feeling right now.
So whether you find someone who’s going to mentor you on a paid basis or who will mentor you for free, definitely have someone you can get feedback from, that you can get that second set of eyeballs that you can talk to about business.
And ideally, this would be someone who has some experience in the business and marketing space or at least has worked in your business, understands the ins and outs of your brand, someone who’s close to you, etc.
#3 LOOK AT BRAND MODELS
One of my mentors always says, make sure that you,
Emulate before you innovate.
And there’s so much wisdom in that. Because often, when people are stepping into entrepreneurship, everyone wants to be different. They want to do something new in the marketplace that will disrupt everything, and it’s going to be a game-changer.
And yes, I’m all for that. That’s great. But I would say, 99% of the time, you don’t have the money, the experience, or the resources to disrupt a marketplace truly.
And so, I will say, especially if you’re a solopreneur, make sure that you’re emulating someone who has done it and done it perfectly and well. Find somebody where you want to be right now, and then learn from them.
Most of the time, those people have excellent books that you can read, podcasts that you can listen to, YouTube channels that you can watch and follow, or you can buy their courses or training, join an accelerator program, join a mastermind group.
And even if those people are not available for those things, you can still follow them and figure out what it is that makes them tick. Use them as your brand models.
And that shouldn’t just be one brand model; at least have three to five different brand models. Find people in your space and outside of your space so that you’re not copying people.
And let me just make this abundantly and excessively clear. When I say emulate, it does not mean stealing their logo or stealing their brand palette and making your website pages look identical to theirs. Do not steal someone else’s work because it will never work for you.
So when I am talking about emulating, I’m talking about examining, learning, paying attention to what they’re doing—and asking yourself questions. Why does this brand set this set of products? Do they have a team? How do they set up their website? How do they create their social media content?
This is how you get inspired. This is how you get the creative juices flowing.
And when you’ve never done what they’re doing in that particular space down the line, as you mature as an entrepreneur, then you’ll be able to innovate on your own, you’ll be able to try things and fail and then try more things and succeed and be totally different and totally unique.
OVER TO YOU
Alright, so there you have it. I hope that was helpful.
So as you continue to find Clarity in your business, remember, Clarity does not strike it unfolds. And find that mentor or someone that you can get the feedback you need. And finally, find brand models. It’s always important to emulate before you innovate.
