Y’all already know that Trello is one of the essential tools in my business because of its flexibility and how easy it is to get things done.
But if you’re just starting out with using Trello for your productivity workflow, you might find and overwhelming to stare at a blank slate with no real clue where to start.
Let’s fix that…
In this episode, I will simplify the entire process using these five easy steps to help you get started, so let’s dive in.
1. CREATE YOUR TRELLO BOARD
To get started, all you need to do is create a blank board, do it by clicking on the plus(+) sign, and name your board whatever you want.
If you have a pro account, you can place it under what team you wanted to add.
2. CREATE YOUR LIST
Trello normally works with a Kanban workflow, where you’re moving from left to right, now this is how we’re going to use it:
a) Create a list of the things to do this week
b) Next, doing
c) And done
You can add as many cards as you want, depending on how you want your workflow to look like.
3. BRAINDUMP EVERYTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE
In this step, think of all the things you wanted to do this week. The great thing about Trello is that you can add other members for collaboration, there’s a label, a checklist that helps you keep track of the things you want to achieve and attachment to attach important files.
4. SET DUE DATES
Setting deadlines for your task allows you to get things done because if we don’t add a deadline, it will be impossible to accomplish the task.
Analyze what task you want to accomplish for a certain day of the week.
PROTIP: If you want to see the chronological order for each task, you can just move around the cards and arrange them or you can just enable the Calendar PowerUp, and when this is enabled, you can see your task in a calendar view.
5. GET YOUR WORK DONE AND MOVE YOUR TASKS
Of course for the last part, you need to execute the task and accomplish all the things that need to be done.
Your main goal at the end of the week is to make sure that all the tasks from your Todos are completed and were moved into Done card.
